THE HUSBAND of a cyclist who died in King's Cross last year has said that he does not intend to stop cycling but is desperate for more to be done to improve cyclist safety on the roads.
Reg Wright, of South Hill Park, Hampstead, whose wife Emma Foa, was fatally injured when a construction lorry collided with her in December last year, spoke of the dangers faced by cyclists from construction vehicles.

Mother-of-two Ms Foa was cycling to her husband's workplace in Clerkenwell when she was crushed by a lorry as she waited at traffic lights in Camley Street, King's Cross.
He said: "I just want to cycle - the same as Emma just wanted to cycle. I don't want to have to get on public transport but there has got to be improvements in safety. Construction vehicles should be regarded as killers.
"Audible sensors are a must for construction vehicles. Even if the driver is completely incompetent, lazy and distracted, they would still know a cyclist was there."
Mr Wright attended his wife's inquest at St Pancras Coroner's Court last month to hear a verdict of accidental death.
He said: "It was a thoughtful and very thorough affair and my daughters and I feel as if we have asked all the questions that can
be asked, and been given the full extent of any answers that can
be given.
"But the most important outcome was that the coroner gave a long and detailed narrative verdict outlining the lack of training in awareness of cyclists, the lack of training in use of mirrors, the lack of training or awareness, for both drivers and cyclists, in the use of bike lanes and exclusion zones and the need for a thorough review of cycling safety in view of the increase in construction traffic.
