Lee Valley Lions mauled by Bristol

Against a tough Bristol outfit, Lee Valley put in their best performance of the season, but still lost 7-3 on Saturday.
The Pitbulls are new to the English National League South 2 and their start to the 2009/10 season has been impressive, having now notched up four wins out of five games.
"It was an awesome performance and more importantly, it was a team performance," said Lions manager Ian Prince.
"If we'd have had a third line we could well have taken the game."
The Lions faced their opposition with a squad of only two lines, Andrew Holdaway being sidelined through illness. Among those who made the trip were two new signings, namely former Slough winger, Dave Tyler and back-up netminder, Robyn Maby.
It was Ruth Cattell who started in net for Lee Valley, facing no fewer than 60 shots during her time between the pipes before handing over to Maby for the last dying minutes of the game.
Lee Stobie (pictured left) scored the Lions' first goal, while Graham Lewis netted the other two as Lions built a 3-2 lead, only for Bristol to net twice in a matter of seconds to turn the match on its head.
The hosts went 5-3 up before the end of the second, before extending their lead in the final period to claim their sixth win of the season, leaving the Lions third from bottom of the table.
Lee Valley Lions' next game is at home against Basingstoke Buffalo on November 28, face-off is at 4.30pm.
