So, as this seemingly authentic image makes clear, one of the capital’s Boris Bike’s has made it as far as Gambia, which as far as we can work out represents a record-breaking achievement.
Quite how it was a achieved, though, is another matter. No one knows.
From London to the west African republic is 5,800km, according to Google Maps, calculated at a speed of 15km and pedalling 12 hours a day, could have been managed in just over a month.
That includes two ferries - across the Channel and Mediterranean - and traversing the Sahara. Seems unlikely, but how do you think it got there?
