A pensioner has been using a potentially deadly World War II hand grenade as an ornament after she was given it by her late husband.
Firefighters had to evacuate the elderly woman’s home in Scotland after discovering the device - which was thought to have had a blast range of up to 20 metres - during a home safety visit.
But bomb disposal experts later said it was a dummy and wouldn’t detonate.
The woman had believed it had been deactivated.
