We all know the lengths politicians will go to these days to enhance their public image – but surely this is too far?

Or rather it would be if it actually were David Cameron and not part of an (albeit very good) publicity stunt for peer-to-peer lender RateSetter.

The company organised the spectacle in an attempt to highlight how it claims to be able to protect your money – even if it can’t defend you from everyday life.

That was of little consequence to the Internet, though, which decided it was the Prime Minister and ran with it.
