The well worn question ‘is the Pope a Catholic?’ might be laced with sarcasm but it has long since passed into common parlance
This crucifix is made of fudge. Picture: Queen Mary, University of LondonAnd it might soon be joined by ‘is the Pope is a cake?’ judging by the ingenuity of these culinary creations.
The sponges on a stick display the faces of the last three occupants, Popes John Paul, Benedict and the current incumbent Pope Francis.
They were designed, created and adorned with icing and edible paint by Nicola Shipley of Tattoo Cakes in time for Sacred Tarts at the Barts Pathology Museum in the City of London.
Organised to celebrate the Easter period, the festival will take place on March 30 from 11am to 7pm.
