A man had to seek refuge up a tree after he was chased by a stag during rutting season.
The man, seen in the video on this page, was in Bushy Park in south-west London when the encounter happened. The man can be seen circling a tree while the stag tries to get close to him, before climbing up the tree to get away from the animal.
A woman who filmed the incident told ITN News: “Well, there was two stags parallel gonna have a fight and all of a sudden the man got too close and was chased by a stag. He was hyped up, it’s rutting season.
“He was just walking along the path. He stopped because obviously he thought the stag was going to cross the path but the stag took his choice and went after the bloke instead of the other stags.
“He just shouted “help, help” but you couldn’t go over and help him because the stag was just too hyped up. Nobody could get close to the bloke to help so when the bloke went up the tree I dialled 101 and phoned the police for help.”
