King Rat in the Nutcracker at The 02

There’s nothing that says Christmas more than a trip to a big show and dancers from the Birmingham Royal Ballet are bringing a spectacle with them in a production of the festive Nutcracker at The 02.

Tickets are available from the popular family show which takes the audience from the Silberhaus family home on Christmas Eve to a land of sweets where young Clara’s new nutcracker is transformed into a prince and she encounters the sugar plum fairy herself.

The ballet was premiered by Peter Tchaikovsky in Russia 1892 and was choreographed by the legendary team of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.

This winter’s show follows hard on the heels of the Royal Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet which watched by nearly 50,000 people at The 02 in June.
