The creators of the hugely popular Secret Cinema have launched the latest edition of the Future Shorts Festival.

To send a link to this page to a friend, you must be logged in.

Encompassing six continents, 90 countries, 285 cities and an expected audience of 40,000, it is pitched as the world’s largest short film festival, and anyone can take part.

The premise is this: choose one of five selected short films, find a location to screen it in and contact Future Shorts to buy a license.

They then send you the DVD as well as promotional materials and information for your event.

Alternatively head to watch a screening at any of the venues listed on their website.

The films on offer in the Autumn programme (October 1 to December 31) are A Brief History of John Baldessari, from the directors of CATFISH and narrated by Tom Waits; Rite, winner of Sundance’s Short Filmmaking award; The Black Balloon, winner of Special Jury Mention at Tribeca Film Festival; Café Regular; and Auf Der Strecke.

Future Shorts is also celebrating the launch of a film collaboration to save lives with charity Malaria No More UK.

This Autumn, film lovers across the UK can host screenings for the charity.
