New London Dungeon premises will be ‘bigger and better’

The London Dungeon is to move from its London Bridge base after almost 40 years to bigger premises on the South Bank.

Visitors will also be able to experience Sweeney Todd

Its final shows in Tooley Street will take place on January 31 before the first shows at the County Hall are held in March 2013.

Bosses have promised a bigger and better attraction, including two thrill rides and a fast flowing boat ride.

General manager Ben Sweet said: “We have new shows and rides which are more dramatic and surprising, new scripts that are even funnier than ever, more theatrical costumes and styling and more talented actors to play even more colourful villains and blaggards.

“We’re not just moving address, we’re creating something new and dynamic that’s scream out loud scary and laugh out loud funny at the same time.

“We anticipate the move next door to the London Eye will prove highly successful for us and pave the way for new visitors.”

Some of the attraction’s favourite characters will return including Sweeney Todd, Jack the Ripper and Henry VIII.
