An English garden theme has been announced for London’s St George’s Day celebrations.
A free outdoor festival will be held in Trafalgar Square on April 21, two days before the English saint’s day.
The famous square will be transformed into a lush oasis for the day, with raised beds around the fountains and other gardening installations.
Music will come from last year’s Rhythm of London Busking Underground winner the Robbie Boyd Band, as well as Battersea Beat Box Academy and Big Phat Brass.
Celebrations will pay homage to some favourite English music hall classics courtesy of the Brick Lane Music Hall.
Other activities will include English rose-making origami and a garden treasure trail for children.
