You might not think of London as the ideal place to find wild ingredients for lunch, but an upcoming event for foodies may change that perception.

Tomorrow (May 24), restaurant and bar The Crooked Well in Camberwell is hosting a morning of urban foraging followed by a gourmet lunch featuring the foraged food.

Hunter-gatherer Nick Weston, author of The Treehouse Diaries: How to Live Wild in The Woods, is helping out for the unusual culinary experience.

Attendees will collect and learn how to recognise edible items from the great, local outdoors including chickweed, wild garlic, yarrow, beech, sorrel and wild pine needles.

After a fun foraging morning, guests will enjoy a three-course lunch.

Each course will be paired with specially prepared cocktails using fruit infusions and syrups made with foraged ingredients such as lovage and thyme.

Tickets cost £55, which includes lunch. To book, call 020 7252 7798.
