London Fashion Week begins

London Fashion week kicks off today, with designers including Felder Felder, sass & bide and PPQ showing on the opening day.

The spring/summer 2013 event finishes on Tuesday, and over the next five days some of Britain’s top designers will show off the latest trends.

A number of this year’s shows will be streamed live, meaning those who were unable to get coveted tickets to the event, which is for the trade, will also be able to see what’s hot as it appears on the catwalk.

Designers showing this year include Burberry, Christopher Kane, Vicienne Westwood Red Label, Matthew Williamson, Temperley London and Topshop.

Brand such as Issa London, Mulberry and Erdem, favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge, will also be showing, although the royal will not be able to attend as she is currently on a tour of South East Asia and the South Pacific.

Famous faces are expected to grace the front rows of a number of the shows. Previous attendees of London Fashion Week have included the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton, the Prime Minister’s wife Samantha Cameron and Peaches Geldof.

London Fashion Week, which takes place in February and September every year, is classed as one of the “big four” fashion weeks alongside New York, Paris and Milan.
