Atlantic Bullet: Come Around Summer (mp3)

Who are you and where are you from?

We are Atlantic Bullet from Romford, Essex and Stratford

Where and how did you meet?

We all know each other from previous bands we have been involved in over the last 5 years or so. We all became quite frustrated by our old bands becoming more like a second job which is why we decided to start a new band concentrating on why we all started playing instruments in the first place which was to have fun and enjoy the music we play. This definitely reflects in our live shows. Sometimes bands can become all about chasing fame and fortune which is usually when everything goes downhill and you forget why you started a band in the first place.

What are your musical influences?

We have many musical influences but to name a few I would say Led Zeppelin, Kings of Leon, Queens of the Stone Age. Basically any good rock and roll music. Foo Fighters are a major influence on us and Rob, our guitarist, would kill me if I didnt mention The Darkness. He seems to have fallen in love with them over the past few months.

How would you describe your sound?

Our sound varies as one minute we can play a soft melodic tune and the next a balls out rock song which will get everybody moving. We like to think our sound appeals to a wide audience.

Has your music evolved over time? If so, why?

We like to think our music has evolved in the sense that every new song we write is better than the last. Thats what we try to achieve anyway. It goes without saying that the more time we spend writing together the more confident and accomplished we become.

What is your biggest achievement or claim to fame thus far?

Having only been together since February this year I think the amount of interest generated in that short time is an achievement in itself. Every song we write or live show I think of as an achievement. Its hard to pinpoint one as our biggest as they are all mean a lot to us.

When and where are your next gigs?

The next gigs we have lined up are on the Friday 5th August at the Golden Fleece in Chelmsford and the following day Saturday 6th August headlining The Dublin Castle in Camden. Over the next few months we plan to play more live shows and are in the process of arranging some acoustic sets and a big Christmas / New Years gig in London to finish the year off. We are finalising details with promoters and new dates will be up on all of our sites as soon as they are confirmed.

Do you have a single, EP, or album release planned?

We have our first self titled E.P out which are priced at 3 each. You can pick up your copy from any of our upcoming gigs. We are in the process of writing new material for an album which we plan to start work on towards the end of the year. Judging by the songs we have put together already for it, its going to be one hell of an album. Were not blowing our own trumpet or anything.
