An emerging rock band have been competing with the likes of Paul Weller for top spot on a national music download chart.

Band Junkstar and lead singer JC Connington, who lives in Hornsey, have achieved success with latest single Kicking K reaching the top five of the Amazon new releases rock chart in the past week.
Single b-side Girls Like Him jumped from around number 27,000 to number two in the general new releases chart.
The 27-year-old singer and songwriter, originally from Southport, said: “I am delighted. When you are up against Evanescence, Paul Weller, the Vaccines and We Are Scientists, it’s pretty cool to be outselling them! We’ve had good backing from the BBC and Kerrang.”
The other members of the band are keyboard player Anna Reinoso, guitarist Emy Santoro, bass player Katy Zee, and drummer Simon Hartop.
The group was formed three years ago by Anna and JC, and met through musician wanted advertisements on the internet.
They have played support shows for Athlete, Kate Nash and indie sensations The Drums and have toured the USA and Holland.
Anna, who lives in Islington, said: “The best thing has been that record labels have been interested in signing us up following the success of the single. The feedback has been very positive and it could be a big breakthrough for the band.”
Kicking K and Girls Like Him can be purchased for 79p each on Amazon.
