Stars from the heyday of Stock, Aitken and Waterman’s pop music success, including Rick Astley, Steps and Jason Donovan, are coming together for a concert in London’s Hyde Park this summer.
The huge Hit Factory Live gig on July 11 will also feature Bananarama, Dead Or Alive, Pepsi & Shirlie, Sinitta, Hazell Dean, Sonia, and Brother Beyond among others.
The show is said to be the first time so many of the acts from the Hit Factory stable have come together on the same bill.
More acts will be announced including a “very special duet” – could Kylie and Jason be reunited?
Stock, Aitken and Waterman scored a mass of hits in the 80s and 90s with their bouncy pop tunes, and are now acknowledged as one of the most successful songwriting and producing teams of all time.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Waterman’s PWL records label, which was home to many of the artists, including Kylie Minogue.
Waterman said: “I’ve been saying no for years to a Hit Factory concert but now, 25 years on, the timing feels right.
“It’s time to celebrate the hit single and we have a tremendous line-up of our classic artists confirmed to play Hit Factory Live in Hyde Park on July 11. More surprises will be announced over the coming months - it’s set to be the biggest and best ever celebration of SAW and PWL !”
A proportion of proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
Tickets go on sale on March 23 from 9am, available at www.livenation.co.uk
