The annual “Night of 1000 Voices” returns to the South Kensington venue with performers including Bonnie Langford, Kerry Ellis and Peter Polycarpou supporting the charity effort.

And it will be hosted by Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville.

Popular songs from Evita, The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar and Les Misérables will feature with the 1000 Voices Massed Choir and the The City of London Philharmonic orchestra taking part.

The event has been staged at the Royal Albert Hall since 1999 and this year is raising funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

In 2010, the night raised more than £140,000 for the charity, which is dedicated to saving the lives of blood cancer patients.

Distinguished West End maestros Stuart Morley and David Firman will supervise the musical performers.

Director Hugh Wooldridge said: “This evening is a must for all who love musicals.”

Cathy Gilman, the charity’s chief executive, said: “Since 1960, survival rates have increased dramatically for patients with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. “However, there’s still a long way to go and money raised from this evening will help us get closer to a cure.”

Other performers include Ricardo Afonso, Daniel Boys, Clive Rowe, Caroline Sheen and Sally Ann Triplett.

Tickets start at £17.50 and are available from the Royal Albert Hall box office on 020 7589 8212 or at www.royalalberthall.com.
