Will, will be speaking at the Sing Inspiration! 2012 event, taking place at Royal Festival Hall on March 12.

The concert will feature a 500-strong choir from Wandsworth whose members are aged between eight and 80, with backing from the igospel London adult choir band.

The show, which was created by Wandsworth Council and charity Catch 22, will also include performances by bands from Chestnut Grove School, in Balham, and South Thames College, London.

Performers have been getting professional vocal coaching and training from igospel’s tutors over the past six months in preparation for the show.

Councillor Kathy Tracey, Wandsworth’s cabinet member for education and children’s services, said: “We are very excited about the different elements of this year’s concert - and delighted that Will Young has given it his backing.

“Not everyone gets to perform on stage at the Royal Festival Hall. We want to give people an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.”

The event is sponsored by the Wandsworth Council’s Family Learning and Lifelong Learning departments and Wandsworth Music Service.
