East London pop-opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte were denied victory despite a “sensational” performance on Britain’s Got Talent.

The pair from Ilford came second, which was a shock to bookies who made Jonathan, 17, and Charlotte, 16, the hot favourites.

A dog called Pudsey which does tricks won the hit talent show on ITV.

The duo stuck together despite entertainment mogul Simon Cowell suggesting Jonathan should go solo during their first audition.

Jonathan and Charlotte performed The Prayer. Judge David Walliams hailed the performance.

“That was sensational. That was your best performance yet, it was so heartfelt, it was so professional,” he said.
