The Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly unsure about her new fringe because it needs more maintenance than her old do.

The 30-year-old royal has had her brunette locks cut into a slightly shorter and layered style, complete with flattering bangs, but she admitted it is taking a bit of getting used to.

During a visit to Cambridge with husband Prince William, Catherine stood on the balcony of the Guildhall and a gust of wind went past causing her tresses to fly over her face.

Later, as the royal couple moved on to meet and greet spectators, onlooker Joanne Baldwin says she spoke to Catherine about her new hairdo, which was when she revealed her doubts.

Joanne said: “I told her I loved her new hair style. She said, ‘I’m not sure about it. It’s a bit windy today.’ I said don’t worry, it looks lovely.”

Catherine showed off her new look with a pale gray MaxMara Belli overcoat, brown suede Aquatalia ankle boots and a a brown clutch by Emmy Scarterfield.
