The latest James Bond film, Skyfall, is to get a royal premiere attended the Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall - and will benefit real life members of the security services.

The couple will attend the screening, which is also the world premiere of the 23rd Bond film, at the Royal Albert Hall on October 23.

Prince Charles has asked for the screening to benefit charities that support members of the three intelligence agencies - the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), the Security Service (MI5) and GCHQ.

Skyfall sees Daniel Craig return as 007 for the third time, although including his appearance alongside the Queen in a short film screened at the opening of the Olympic Games, this could be seen as Craig’s fourth appearance as Bond.

Not much is known about the plot of Skyfall, but the trailer, which you can watch on this page, shows Bond being shot by what appears to be another agent, seemingly on the orders of M.

Among those due to attend the premiere are Craig, Dame Judi Dench who returns as M, along with other stars such as Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw. Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes will also stride the red carpet.

Skyfall’s premiere will come little more than a fortnight after the 50th anniversary of the first bond film, Dr No, received its world premiere on October 5 1962.

Producers of the film said: “We are thrilled His Royal Highness Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have agreed to attend the world premiere of our latest James Bond film, and are pleased this event will help raise funds to support the Prince’s chosen charities.”
