Rihanna’s new season collection for River Island will be showcased at London Fashion Week for the first time today.

The collaboration will not reach stores until March 5, but today’s show will give people an idea of what to expect.

Earlier this week she expressed her excitement about her foray into the fashion world, and said she was looking forward to fans finally seeing her designs.

She said on Twitter: “My first fashion show!!! My designs will walk the catwalks of London Fashion Week in days!! It’s gonna be MAJAH! £RihannaForRiverIsland.”

She added: “Fashion gods will be in the building!! £FRONTROWLIFE £YouCantSitWithUs £RihannaForRiverIsland Can’t wait for you to see it!!!”

A few familiar faces will take their seats at the side of the runway to see what Rihanna has to offer.

When the collaboration was announced, Rihanna said: “Launching at London Fashion Week is a dream come true for me.

“I have wanted to design my own collection for a long time and to present my collection for River Island alongside all of the other great design talent at LFW is a real privilege.

“I can’t wait to see the reaction from my fans and the fashion press!”

Ben Lewis, River Island chief executive, said: “We are very excited to present our Rihanna for River Island collection at London Fashion Week.

“This is the perfect platform to showcase Rihanna’s design talent and ambition.”

The range will also be available in Opening Ceremony stores in the United States and Japan.
