Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenburgh have refused to compromise their wedding for The Only Way is Essex and admit they are yet to decide whether they want their nuptials to appear on the ITV2 show.

The couple, who got engaged on the ITV2 reality show earlier this summer, have started planning their nuptials but are yet to decide whether or not their big day will feature on the programme and insist it is “more important” to them than TOWIE.

Lucy exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “As long as our family and friends are there ... then that’ll be the last thing to decide.”

Mario added: “Obviously that stuff, to us, is more important than the show.”

The couple revealed their wedding plans are still in the early stages, but admitted they will struggle to better the nuptials of Mario’s sister Giovanna and husband Tom Fletcher after the McFly singer got married to his childhood sweetheart in May this year, which brother-in-law Mario described as the “perfect” wedding.

Speaking at the opening of a Titanic film prop display at Westfield, London yesterday Mario said: “It was just amazing ... they literally smashed it. Tom’s speech was actually incredible.”

Lucy - who recently celebrated her 21st birthday - agreed, adding that she doubts the couple will ever be able to put on “a better wedding”.

The couple posed for pictures in a replica of Titanic heroine Rose’s cabin at the interactive prop display, and recreated Leonardo DiCaprio’s classic “I’m the king of the world” pose on a replica bow of the ship, and fans of the 1997 movie can do the same.

Mario said: “I think Titanic is one of the best films ever released. It was the first ever film I saw at the cinema - I know it literally word for word.”

Lucy added: “Getting to do the pose - it’s an honour, really ... I love the dress ... It’s good to see everything in front of you.”
