A contemporary dance company is moving to its new home on the South Bank this autumn, joining music, film, theatre and the visual hearts at the creative hub.
Rambert will celebrate the move by hosting a series of free events showcasing its work.
For two weeks Rambert will be throwing open its doors and inviting the public to tour the building, watch rehearsals, observe artists at work and take part in classes.
World class dancers can be viewed in their daily technique classes, rehearsing for upcoming performances and demonstrating the choreographic process as artistic director Mark Baldwin creates new work in the studio.
The programme also includes performances of Baldwin’s The Rite of Spring by the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, concerts by the Rambert Orchestra, renowned cellist David Cohen and London Philharmonic Orchestra’s Foyle Future Firsts, and Vintage Rambert, a cross-arts performance piece created in response to Rambert’s Archive by young people aged 16 to 25.
Workshops will be on offer for people of all ages, experienced dancers and those who are completely new to dance.
Events will take place from December 2 to December 14. All are free but booking is essential.
