While they may enjoy a lavish lifestyle being brought up by multi-millionaire parents, David and Victoria Beckham’s kids do not have it completely easy.
The offspring of the footballer and his fashion designer wife still have to earn their pocket money.
Father-of-four Beckham, who currently plays for LA Galaxy, said his children go without pocket money if they do not do their chores.
He said: “Without a doubt, they have to earn it.
“They have their chores. They have to put their plates in the dishwasher or make their bed in the morning - and if they don’t do it they don’t get their pocket money.”
What Beckham doesn’t reveal is how much pocket money his kids receive – it’s likely to be slightly higher than the average of £7.63 a week which youngsters in London get.
One little secret he does provide in his Father’s Day interview for BBC children’s bulletin Newsround is that he’s a bit of a dab hand with pasta sauce.
He said his children adore his cooking after he mastered a recipe while he on loan to AC Milan.
Beckham said: “I always cook for them. They love my bolognese because when I lived in Italy for a while, I went to a cooking school.”
It comes after his wife has repeatedly posted messages on Twitter about the goodies she has been cooking.
Beckham also said that they share the responsibilities of taking a tough line with the children where needed.
“Victoria’s the strict one to a point and after that I kind of take over. But we’re both kind of strict, we were brought up like that.”
However he said he was more of a soft touch if it came to letting the children stay up late to watch a football match.
“I let them stay up, but I’m not sure my wife would. You can’t take the kids away from penalties,” he said.
