Jaiden Michael, who starred in the E4 reality show, visited Romford on Tuesday to host the Closet Romford club night at Ciroc, South Street.

He said: “I think Liverpool and Essex culture is quite similar.

“The lads have got a good sense of humour and are cheeky and the girls are all glamorous. There were obvious comparisons between the shows when Desperate Scousewives started.

“People were always going to say it wasn’t as good as Towie but I think there’s room for both.”

Jaiden, 26, is a celebrity blogger from Liverpool who used to live in Epping and still visits the area regularly.

He said: “I see the Towie cast quite a lot and they’re great.”

The Only Way is Essex has run for four series since 2010 and some cast members have left to pursue their own celebrity careers. E4 cancelled Desperate Scousewives in February after eight episodes.
