Downton Abbey actress Elizabeth McGovern will be performing with her band at The Hippodrome later this year.
McGovern, who has received Golden Globe and Emmy nominations for her role as Lady Cora, Countess of Grantham, in the ITV programme, will appear as part of Sadie and the Hotheads at The Hippodrome in Leicester Square for three nights in November.
As well as Downton Abbey, McGovern has also been in films including Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America and the John Hugh’s comedy She’s Having a Baby.
Sadie and the Hotheads were born in 2007 when McGovern took guitar lessons and was encouraged to write her own songs. After a collection had been composed, her teacher Steve Nelson introduced her to his brother Simon who started recording the songs and put together a band of musicians to support the project.
McGovern said: “Your ‘Sadie’ is that thing inside you which makes you unique. Everyone has it.”
The band’s second album How Not To Lose Things was released towards the end of 2012. Since its release, the band have toured the UK and have booked appearances at a number of festivals.
Sadie and the Hotheads will perform at The Hippodrome as part of their second UK tour this autumn.
