In a pose taken straight from the day they announced their engagement, Kate smiles broadly in her now famous blue Issa dress next to William, who stands wearing a grin with his hands clasped in front of him.

Madame Tussauds said that visitors to the famous London attraction had been demanding the royal exhibits be added to the collection since the pair become betrothed in Autumn 2010.

Liz Edwards, from Madame Tussauds, said: “The Queen is the most popular attraction but since the royal wedding fever we’ve had people coming in to see William when he was without Catherine.

“Catherine has her own star quality so we are expecting a lot of people to come, especially with the Easter weekend coming.”

Madame Tussauds is expecting the Cambridges to be the most popular wax figures and they may even surpass interest in the Queen.
