Comic Relief’s Big Chat will see Norton, who lives in Wapping, take over BBC Three for the whole night in an attempt to set the Guinness World Record for Most Questions Asked on a TV Chat Show.

Norton said: “David Walliams swam the Thames, John Bishop endured a week of hell and Eddie Izzard ran marathon after marathon after marathon.

“I am hoping to join this elite group of celebrity fundraisers by doing what I do best – sitting on my backside and talking.”

Guests joining him will include Ronnie Corbett, Sarah Millican, Martin Freeman, Lee Mack, Elle Macpherson, James Nesbitt, Heston Blumenthal, Louis Smith, Aston from JLS and Warwick Davis.

There will be musical performances from Example, Paloma Faith, Hurts, and Laura Mvula.

Norton will be assisted by a number of co-hosts during the show on March 7, including Sir Terry Wogan and Frank Skinner.

Viewers can submit questions for Norton to ask his guests via Twitter @bbcthree with the hashtag #bigchat. People can also donated to Comic Relief by choosing to give either £5 or £10 and then texting FIVE or TEN to 70510.
