A jester at the London Dungeon has equalled the world record for the most jokes told in a minute by delivering 24 in just 60 seconds.
And the attraction broke another record unveiling the world’s biggest playing cards with a set of four jokers standing over seven feet tall and five feet wide, 25 times bigger than a normal sized card.
Every day during the London Dungeon’s ‘Jestival’ season, Black Jester Kevin Haney has been publicly attempting to break the joke record, and on Wednesday he equalled it.
But a spokesman said he won’t be stopping there though, as he intends to continue trying to better the record throughout the summer.
Mr Haney said: “I love comedy and as well as making people scream with laughter at the London Dungeon, I do stand-up performances and compering.
“I have performed at major comedy festivals but cracking this record at Jestival has been a major challenge.
“I can speak very quickly so that was a benefit but telling jokes is a fine art and you’re usually trying to perfect the timing rather than speed through!”
He said now he has done it once he wants to keep on trying to speed up.
“I’ll be doing my best throughout the summer, and at the very least I hope to give people a laugh in the attempt!” he added.
The giant cards will now be on display at the dungeon during the Jestival season, and as well as watching Kevin’s record breaking attempts guests will be dared to go up against him in a joke off, with funniest jokers getting in for free.
