England Rugby Union star Davies appears in the April issue of Cosmopolitan, on sale March 5, for Everyman, an appeal of The Institute of Cancer Research to raise funds for its pioneering research into male cancers.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in British men, with almost 41,000 new cases diagnosed each year, while testicular cancer remains the most common cancer in men aged 15 to 44.

This is the 11th year Cosmopolitan has partnered with Everyman.

Previous stars to pose for the magazine include Ewan McGregor, Rupert Everett, Matt Dawson and Roger Moore.

On the day of the photoshoot Davies said: “I tried to prepare for the shoot by cutting back on the carbs and, I have to admit, I skipped breakfast this morning.

“I’ve done a few extra push-ups and sit-ups, and the lads in the team have been taking the mick!

“What does the team do in the showers after a match? Erm, wash and sing. I like to belt out Bublé!”

The photo of Davies was taken by Antonio Petronzio.
