Switching on the Marmite Oxford Street lights was “another box ticked” from Robbie Williams’ bucket list.

The Candy singer, whose hit has reached number one, took to the stage in front of shoppers on the iconic street, with the appearance coinciding with the release of his new album Take The Crown.

Candy is the first solo number one for Williams for eight years, and the 14th of his career, including with Take That.

Leona Lewis and boy band Lawson took to the stage before Williams switched on the lights.

The light switch on was presented by DJs Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton from radio partner Heart 106.2.
