Music mogul Simon Cowell has flown into the UK to give The X Factor a “mini makeover”.
Cowell is said to be unhappy with the ITV show’s declining ratings and the criticisms of the latest series, which includes that not enough singing is being shown.
He is personally overseeing the edits to give this weekend’s shows an overhaul.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “This weekend is the first time there are two shows, one on each night, and he is determined they look great and have huge audiences.
“He is sitting through the rough edits and changing bits and pieces where he feels they need it. It’s the first time this year he will be really hands-on in the UK.
“Some fans feel there has been too much reality and stuff off the stage so don’t be surprised if there is more singing this week after Simon has finished his mini makeover.”
Meanwhile, Cowell has confirmed he is planning to have the stars of Team GB involved in the show in some way.
He told Channel 5 news: “We’re going to do something around the Olympics on one of the live shows so they’re all welcome.
“We like having heroes on our show.”
