The gold medal winning cyclist insists there is no rivalry between her and Smith on the show, and she believes the 23-year-old gymnast has what it takes to be triumphant.

When asked if there is tension between the pair, she told BANG Showbiz at the UK premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2: “No! I’ve got my money on Louis to win. He’s so good - he remembers stuff like that (clicks fingers). I’m just like, ‘Was it left or right? Ah!’ But he’s got it! He’s very skillful so yeah. Louis all the way for me.”

The brunette beauty, whose dancing partner is Brendan Cole, is also enjoying the flamboyant and unique costumes she gets to wear, admitting it’s her favourite part of the show.

Giving a clue about her costume for this weekend live show at London’s Wembley Arena, where she will be dancing the Paso Doble, she said: “It’s a Paso Doble, I can do angry - I can do stern and angry! A lot easier than romantic so it’s going to be fun!

“I am going to have a cape - it’s going to be more than red. It might be a few other colours as well just to be on line with my previous careers. I’m absolutely loving the hair, make-up and costumes. So much fun, it’s the best part.”

Pendleton will arrive on the dancefloor for her routine pedalling a BMX suspended by wires when the programme comes from Wembley Arena on Saturday.

To complete the look from her Team GB days she will be wearing a red, white and blue outfit as she performs in front of a live audience of 6,000 fans on the BBC1 show.
