Wrath Of The Titans star Sam Worthington has confessed he did not get along with his equine co-star in new 3D blockbuster.

The Avatar star attended the premiere of the Clash Of The Titans sequel at the BFI Imax in London last night, along with co-stars Liam Neeson, Toby Kebbell and director Jonathan Liebesman.

In the film Worthington plays demi-god Perseus who rides flying horse Pegasus into battle to help his father Zeus (Neeson). But Worthington confessed he never met the real horse who played Pegasus and their scenes were filmed separately, before being put together with special effects.

He said: “Me and equine have never got along. There’s something about ‘em. They get skittish around me, I get skittish. Me and Pegasus especially don’t get along.”

The 35-year-old action star also admitted the fight scenes in the film were not easy.

He said: “I get beat up a lot in this movie. I’m a rusty gun slinger who gets beat up. So my training was how many rocks can I throw at myself!”

The first film, Clash Of The Titans, directed by Louis Leterrier, took almost 500 million dollars at the box office in 2010, despite being panned by critics.

Worthington said: “We just took all the feedback that the first one received and we just tried to up the ante a little bit.

“And that included Perseus’ journey as well as the special effects and the 3D. We’re just trying to deliver a bigger and better sequel.”

Neeson, whose character Zeus teams up with his son Perseus and brother Hades, played by Ralph Fiennes, said of the film: “We’re a big dysfunctional family, trying to make it work.”

The film also stars former Bond girl Rosamund Pike and Bill Nighy.
