Mel B obviously impressed X Factor bosses in her audition – the former Spice Girl has been offered a permanent spot on the panel for next year’s show.
Melanie stood in as the fourth judge on the launch episode of the TV talent contest, last weekend.
Bosses at ITV1 loved her brutally honest put-downs and now are reportedly desperate to secure her for the 2013 series.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Mel was our first choice. She was so quick and honest. You can’t let everyone down gently or the praise is meaningless.
“There’s a lot of money on the table for her next year.”
And the enthusiasm is mutual, it seems.
Mel took to Twitter following her cameo on the panel, writing: “Tell Simon [Cowell] to take me back for season 10. #XFactor (sic)”
The ‘Wannabe’ star divided opinions with her harsh comments, but many viewers felt she was the voice of reason and could be the new Simon Cowell.
The straight-talking singer will have competition in the form of original judge Sharon Osbourne, however, since the showbiz matriarch recently lobbied her fans about making a grand return to the show.
