Emily Kennedy (age 9) enjoyed the latest instalment of the phenomenally popular Terry Dreary franchise.

Horrible Histories is crazier than ever, but this time, it’s all about Britain…Barmy Britain. HH is a series of books about wicked people throughout the ages, but now you can see it at the Garrick Theatre.

The show had two people, so they kept changing characters by using props and wearing different clothes from a basket in the middle of the stage.

During the evil eras of England there were some really awful events happening: Romans cooked guts from animals such as mice and they also invented the bum scratcher. The Vikings attacked Britain for land and unarmed Monks were killed in Lindisfarne.

We sang a song about Henry VIII’s wives with actions to remember who was divorced, beheaded, died and survived.

They did a parody of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and contestant Guy Fawkes called his friend Robert Catesby who came up with the idea to blow up Parliament.

In World War One 6,000 were killed in a single day, but the Germans were worse - half a million people died in one battle. Seems the 20th Century was just as bad!

* Barmy Britain is at the Garrick Theatre, Charing Cross Road, WC2.
