The smash-hit musical about the life and times of Ike and Tina Turner is moving to the New Wimbledon Theatre.

Bill Kenwright and John Miller’s Soul Sister was nominated for best new musical at the 2013 Olivier Awards after causing a sensation on the West End.

As well as moving to south London from the Savoy Theatre later this month it has been announced the show ill go on a nationwide tour.

Soul Sister features all the classic Tina Turner hits including ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’, ‘Private Dancer’ and ‘Simply the Best’.

The story follows the tumultuous relationship between the singer and her husband Ike as she was catapulted to superstardom.

Star Jenny Fitzpatrick said Tina Turner has been one of the biggest musical influences in her life, calling it ‘an absolute dream’ to play the singer.

Soul Sister runs at the New Wimbledon Theatre from Monday, August 19 to Saturday, August 24, with tickets costing between £10 and £29.50.
