Malakai Paul bursts into tears during his audition prompting Alesha Dixon to rush on stage to comfort him.

The nine-year-old, from north London is allowed to try again and wins the judges’ hearts with his swooping voice while trying out for the ITV1 show.

The youngster himself warned before: “Sometimes I get a bit nervous and get stage fright.”

Simon Cowell tells him: “What I like about you - you’re brave. You got off to a bad start, picked yourself up and people are going to like you a lot.”

And Dixon declares: “You are a star. It’s a natural raw talent. That’s what we’re looking for.”

The judges are also dazzled by another school-age soul sensation, Molly Rainford, 11.

Molly, from Barking, wows the stars, with Dixon telling her: “You sing with such maturity and control - you’ve just blown me away.”

And Cowell agrees, telling her: “You’ve got soul - I really do believe that.”
