Musical contortionist Lucky, from east London, is poised to amaze the audience in tonight’s semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent.

Lucky, real name Leilani Franco, has spent her life being as “flexible as a jellyfish”, to use her parents’ words.

The 25 year old from Aldgate, who has the unusual skill that she can stick her fist in her mouth, joined the Philippine Ballet theatre at 16, and went on to study with the National Circus School of Canada.

The contortionist, who sings and plays guitar, said: “I really had no idea what to expect and I decided to just go for it to see how far I could get. So far I have been lucky. I really want to show Britain a different contortion-circus style and it seemed like a good idea.”

Pop-opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte, who attended school in Chigwell, won the public vote in last night’s semi-final of the ITV1 show to book their place in Saturday’s final.

They will be joined by another pairing - Latin American ballroom dancers Kai and Natalia.

They finished in the top three of the public vote, and were chosen to go to the final ahead of 14-year-old Scottish singer Paige Turley by three of the show’s four judges, with only David Walliams choosing Paige.

Other acts appearing in tonight’s semi-final include 11-year-old singer Molly Rainford from Barking, the Twist and Pulse Dance Company from London and the Loveable Rogues, a band from Essex.
