The dress worn by Pippa Middleton on her sister’s wedding day in London which helped garner national-sweetheart status for the bridesmaid is coming to the High Street.

Twenty-seven year-old Pippa was thrust into the spotlight by the wedding at Westminster Abbey in April between Prince William and Kate.

Such the impression made by Chelsea resident Pippa on that big day in April, that she is set to become something of style icon on the high street, for now at least.

Debenhams have announced a new line of royal wedding-inspired dresses, and no prizes for guessing what is the centre-piece of the collection - the bridesmaid’s gown worn by Pippa.

Such is the expected demand that Debenhams has decided to draw up a ‘lady-in-waiting list’ so that women can order before it hits racks, next year.

So while the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress is consigned to the archives as a museum piece at Buckingham Palace, the dress worn by her sister is taking on a second life as a great example of affordable style.

There are also reports that a high street version is being produced of the emerald green gown worn by Pippa to the reception at Buckingham Palace.
