What with the Jubilee and the Games, we've never felt so proud to be British.
So whether youre heading to a street party this long weekend or holding your own, do it in style with our guide to a glamorous Jubilee, courtesy of the London Living blog.
DECORATION
In need of some decoration? Nothing says garden party like bunting. Go patriotic and do it in red, white and blue or go all out with Union flag bunting. Want to make your own? Check out how with the nifty video above.
DRINKS
With the decoration out of the way, it's time to focus on the things that matter - namely the booze and the snacks. There's nothing more British than a jug of Pimms. Not sure how to make it? Here's the recipe:
Mix 1 part PIMM'S No.1 with 3 parts chilled lemonade.
Add some mint, cucumber, orange and strawberry.
Don't forget the ice, serve in a frosted jug and cross your fingers for sunshine. Oh, and head for Selfridges if you're feeling flush - they're selling giant Jubilee-themed bottles of Pimms with a fetching Union flag sticker.
FOOD
With the drinks ready and waiting; pour yourself a glass and head for the kitchen to create some dainty sandwiches. In our opinion, you can't go wrong with the humble egg and cress sarnie - another of our faves is a lemony prawn and cucumber sandwich. Check out our recipes below:
Lemony prawn and cucumber sandwiches (makes 12)
6 slices white bread
Half a cucumber, thinly sliced
4 tbsp mayonnaise
Zest and a squeeze of 1 lemon
6 large cooked prawns, halved for topping
Lightly butter the bread and top with the sliced cucumber. Mix the mayo with the lemon zest and squeeze. Add half a prawn to each sandwich and top with a dollop of lemon mayo and a twist of cracked black pepper.
Egg and cress sandwiches (makes 12)
4 eggs
2 chopped spring onions
2-3 tbsp crme frache
12 small rolls
Cress, to serve
Lightly butter the bread rolls. Boil the eggs for 9 minutes and wait to cool. Peel and mash with the creme fraiche and add chopped spring onion, salt and pepper. Add a generous dollop of the mixture to each roll.
Follow with scones, clotted cream and jam.
Congratulations - you're ready for your Jubilee party! All that's left is the playlist; might we suggest Queen's Greatest Hits. Enjoy!
