Even by London’s extremely eclectic culinary standards, Taiwanese bubble tea has to be one of the most unusual treats on offer in the city.

A go-to place to sample these exotic delights is Bubbleology, which explains the beverage is “a fun and quirky fruit-infused tea-based soft drink with the unique and hugely addictive addition of tapioca pearls at the bottom of the cup.”

The texture of these pearls – also known as ‘Boba’ – is described as “almost gummy bear”, with a caramel undertone and becoming infused with the flavour of the tea itself.

Bubbleology is celebrating its first birthday by offering Londoners the chance to taste its bubble teas for free.

Be at the Soho flagship store or Harvey Nichols outlet in Knightsbridge 12noon to 3pm this Sunday (April 22) to get a complimentary kumquat fruit tea or an almond or taro flavoured milk tea.
