Organised by the Newham African Resource Centre, the ‘Echoes of Benin/British Conflict 1897’ was launched in the House of Commons by West Ham MP Lyn Brown in February led by more than 20 volunteers from Newham.

The project’s ‘Cultural Exhibition’, showcasing history, artefacts, traditions and heritage with special guest speakers, is free to visit at Durning Hall Community Centre, Earlham Grove, Forest Gate on Saturday July 7 from 1pm to 9pm.

To book or for more information, call the Newham African Resource Centre on 020 9471 2258 or email yaw196530@yahoo.co.uk.
