HUNDREDS of people are planning to march across Hackney against hate crime.

Hackney Pride March has been organised by Out East, a voluntary community group fighting for gay rights, to show unity of all communities in the borough.

Organisers hope the march will bring people together to fight against offences such as homophobic and transphobic attacks in Hackney as well as racism.

Peter Jones, of Out East, said: “We want the march to become a touch point and a platform for all the LGBT and gay community groups and charities in the borough, as well as organisations who support LGBT, queer and human rights.

“We want to encourage all of these groups to share information and be visible at the march.”

The march will take place on Saturday September 4 starting from the community space outside the Learning Trust in Mare Street at 2pm and ending up at St Leonard’s Church, Shoreditch an hour later.
