A five-year-old boy has died after a collision with a lorry in Elephant and Castle.

Emergency services, including the London Air Ambulance, were called to St George’s Road at about 3.45pm.

The boy, who police say was with his mother at the time of the incident, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He was taken to a south London police station and subsequently bailed to early January 2013.
