People in Bromley are pulling out all the stops to make the Diamond Jubilee celebrations truly memorable.

Dozens of streets in the borough have been closed to allow residents to throw parties over the long weekend, starting today (Saturday) and carrying on until Tuesday as people make the most of the time off.

The Queen herself visited Bromley last month to get the people into the Jubilee spirit.

There is a beacon lighting ceremony organised by Harris Hospice Care in Tregony Road, Orpington, on Monday evening to replicate similar scenes across the country at thousands of different venues with a beacon lighting ceremony to commemorate 60 years on the throne for Queen Elizabeth II.
