Children made a splash on Friday when they launched a boat they had made on the Regent’s Canal.

The pupils from Thornhill Primary School, Thornhill Road, Barnsbury, set sail from the bridge in nearby Caledonian Road.

The vessel was part of a literacy project that expanded to include elements of science.

Class teacher Meena Rahi said: “They were so into the project – it was brilliant. And they got so much learning out of it. I was very proud of them and they were proud of themselves.”
