Sande’s performance saw her album Our Version Of Events crashed in at number one.

Rock’s mr-nice-guys Elbow achieved the most impressive jump in the singles chart. After playing their One Day Like This at the ceremony it landed at number four. Previously it was at 125.

The Spice Girls’ one-off reunion at the show also helped line their pockets: their greatest hits compilation ascended the album chart from 164 to number 18.

A remix of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill also featured in the ceremony and sparked sales of her compilation record The Whole Story, jumping to number 21 from 92.

In the singles chart, 21-year-old Rita Ora went straight in at top spot with How We Do (Party), knocking Wiley’s Heatwave to number two.

Kate Bush’s remixed single Running Up That Hill entered the top 10 at number six.
