c2c managing director Julian Drury gets record-breaker 'medal' from Cheryl Baker at Fenchurch St Station

Former ‘Record Breakers’ TV host Cheryl Baker arrived at Fenchurch Street Station to award a medal to rail operators who have set a new British record for punctuality with 97 per cent trains running on time.

She congratulated C2C’s Managing Director Julian Drury after latest Public Performance Measure statistics showed the Southend service through east London and Essex has beaten all other UK train operators throughout the last 12 months.

Cheryl, who presented the BBC series Record Breakers for 11 years, said: “This is a new UK record—dedication is what you need to be a record breaker.”

The company has persistently topped the railway industry’s punctuality league table month-by-month over the past year. Last month’s figures show almost 98 per cent trains on time for the four weeks up to June 23, according to Network Rail.
